Egyptian Mask Trio

3 masks of a set of 4, that were requested to be in the style of Egyptian canopic jars, but with different animals than the usual ones you see in Egyptian-style masks. So I made a scorpion, a baboon, a crocodile, and an eagle. I of course forgot to photograph the eagle at all, and barely managed to get a few quick shots of these guys before sending them off, modeled by my long-suffering roommate.

Like all my masks, these ones are made from vegetable-tanned leather, hand tooled and shaped, then hardened with water and heat. There were then painted with a combination of non-toxic, water-based dyes and acrylics, and sealed to protect them from dirt and moisture.
